I have been writing, and seeking out writing challenges, pretty much since I could hold a pen. While my ‘professional’ life has taken me down the rabbit hole of ‘proper jobs’, I have always sought out extra roles where writing is at the fore and now, at the not so tender age of 27, I’ve decided to pursue my vocation and true passion for writing full-time!
I started Unicornthesaurus last year to give myself a public outlet for my writing, posting about various topics that interest me, sharing personal work, creative writing, poetry and general thoughts and mind wanderings. This year I want to start giving it a bit more direction and begin to focus on the topics that really matter to me and make me BUZZ!
I enjoy the journalistic style of writing – hearing people’s stories, capturing the details and telling it in a way that makes them, and others, smile. I don’t like to take myself too seriously (as you can probably tell!)
You’re never too old for silly! Laughter is universal, and contagious. Making people laugh not only brightens their day but mine too, so for as long as I have the inclination, and the power to do so, I will.
I would love to write for Amnesty International, Stonewall or MIND as all are very close to my heart. I’d also LOVE to write for a Craft Beer or Street Food publication. I am an absolute craft beer and street food hound and love a good street-food event or beer festival – Digbeth Dining Club is my idea of a cracking Friday night!!
